Verze Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare pro Game Boy Color se dočkala relativně věrné adaptace konzolové hry. Kartridžový formát vyžadoval odstranění plnohodnotných video scén přítomných v jiných verzích a mnoho herních oblastí muselo být zmenšeno, přičemž některé byly zcela vypuštěny. Základní předrenderovaná prostředí a 3D postavy na nich umístěné ale zůstaly.
